After 5 weeks of traveling and studying abroad, I finally returned to USA and am home. The question is however, where is home? For me home has so many different definitions. It could be where I was raised and lived my whole life. It could be my boyfriend's house where I have lived for the past 3 years, or it could be college where I live during the academic year. One day after returning to the States, I yet again packed up my belongings and moved to yet another home.
My boyfriend and I pulled into our new driveway Sunday at 10:30 pm accompanied by my parents and stared blankly at our new apartment. Around 1am, after unpacking the vehicles, my parents left and we were "on our own"....and it was one of the greatest feelings I have ever felt. It was the best sense of freedom, the wind beneath my wings, the icing on the cake kind of feeling.
I have spent this week attempting to move without a truck, maintain a budget because I am currently jobless, and get back to a normal schedule. Despite the lack of sleep, heat, small bickering about moving, etc I haven't lost that feeling. Everyday I wake up more and more excited that I am finally on my own, no strings attached, completely free. I have never felt so energized and relax, so calm or comfortable. This is mine. My house, my stuff, my rules, my life...and it's amazing.
