For the majority of my life I have spent my time wishing I was in another place. Any place other than where I was would be fine, another town, another generation, another country, it didn´t matter as long as it was not home. That wish follewed me where ever I went and slowly transformed in to a goal that must be completed. When I graduated high school I started college at a nearby University and commuted, hating every day classes and working insane full time hours at my job. I needed change and transferred to another school about 80 miles from home, no big deal about and hour and a half drive.
That decision was one of the best I have ever made. The first week was tough, missing everything I had ever known and feeling virtually alone. The time went by however and I got used to it and 2 years later I love where and who I am because of that decison.
About 4 weeks ago I boarded at plane in Philadelphia bound for Madrid, Spain. I am currently typing this in a small computer lab in a University in a city called Vallodilid ( about 2 hours away from Madrid). I have around 11 days before I return to the states and I can honestly say this was the wildest experience of my life. You never know how lucky you are to have the things in life you take for granted until you don´t have them anymore. I can say that I miss home more than anything right now and nothing anyone can say or do will make it better. I know alot of people including myself who complain about what they have or don´t have, where they are in life or where they are living. You will never know how precious it all is unless you toake a chance and find out. I thought going to college was a big step, and now I think being in Spain for 5 weeks is a big step. As life goes on the steps keep getting bigger and you have to be willing to take them or else one day you will wake up and realize you haven´t gone anywhere. This is a huge realization for me, because I alwasy thought the grass was greenier on the other side, turns out it´s all the same color. Nothing will ever come close to home, an nothing will ever come close to where I am now. I found that out by taking a chance, and it was one of the best things I have ever done.

This made me smile because words can't describe how badly I want to buy a plane ticket to some place in Europe and just see what happens. I'm going to college 6 hours away, but I don't think it'll be enough of a change. That sounds ridiculous, I'm sure, but I don't mean it like that. I can't think of how I want to phrase it. I want a shock to my system, I want to be someplace so totally different, I want to be out of my comfort zone... but wanting something and acting on it are two totally different things.

I love my friends and family more than anything, but I'm just DONE with where I am. I know I still have college life to look forward to, and although yes, I'm excited, I don't think it's exactly what I need right now.

This comment is going to turn into a blog by (probably) the end of the night... look for it in the high school page... thank you for giving me the incentive to write... reading this was a nice "welcome back" to the site. I haven't been on here in ages.

I think that everyone needs a good shock to the system every one in awhile. It is healthy to desire change, and to make it happen. Only you know what will make you happy and some times it just takes some creative and spontaneos actions to get what you want out of life.
