Identity: A lost, homeless teen trying to find herself

The first two years of a child's life are very important. They grow up learning from their older siblings, parents, guardians or whomever, they are raised around. But,high school is also a big factor of finding out who they truly are.

Here's my story,Freshmen year.A big step into my teenage years.I couldn't wait, meeting new friends, joining clubs and just finding out what I'm good at.I had a pretty clear view of who I wanted to be but, high school made me realize a few things.Who am I?What do I really want in my life? Will these people I call friends be there for me till the end?.I'm now just starting my junior year.

Many things had happened from freshmen to now.I was shown who was a real friend verses who was using me.I walked around the school everyday alone after I started freshman year.No one from my previous school attended Sequoia High. After a while people started approaching me and I had friends. As the days went on,everyone started changing.I was confused."I'm not changing"I thought to myself a lot.

I'm still in high school to this day but,now i'm back to where I was in the beginning.Wandering around a campus alone and scared.

I like to believe that not just high school is a huge changing factor but, everything that happens around you.A death changes you, failing a grade, home situations and anything that happens.

I believe our identities are interchangeable,at the beginning as your raised your identity is chosen for you but,as we reach our teen years we start to truly find ourselves.Daily challenges form who we are and what we do.Also, other people such as friends,boyfriends/girlfriends,or even enemies form who we are.

We allow those in our lives to change who we are without realizing what we are doing.

There is no definition to me for,I am me.You can't describe yourself. You can only say who you think you are.I ask people all the time to define me.They tell me what I already know."I'm kind, thoughtful,I go out of my way to help others"they would say. But,if I had to describe myself I'd say,I'm lost, homeless and don't know exactly who I am but,i do know that I'm strong and wise.I will always fight for whats right and to survive.I cannot give a description of me,for,my life has barely begun and there's more to come.

I am me.
