L.M. Heroux, once said, “Heroism is not just pulling a child from a burning house or a driver from an icy river or a kitten from a tall tree. Heroism is also holding the door for a frail elderly and driving courteously and cooperative and listening with an attentive heart to a friend’s words. Small daily acts of love are as heroic as big once-in-a-lifetime acts of rescues.” A hero is defined by how they affect the lives of others. Everyone is consider a hero in someone’s eyes, whether they are aware of it or not. My hero is my mother, for her compassionate heart and respectful nature.
My mother is known for her compassionate heart. She has a job that requires a lot of involvement with the elderly. Not once, have I seen her be rude to any of her clients, no matter what they have said or done to her. She shows her caring spirit through her work, as she places the best interests of others above her own. My mother goes out of her way to help those around her. She goes above and beyond to provide for the needs of my brother and I. She always strives to do her best for us, and loves us unconditionally. My mom is the most compassionate person that I know. She cares much more for others than she cares for herself. Constantly looking out for others is something she is known to do very frequently.
My mother is also known for her respectful nature around others. She is always respectful regardless of anyone’s age. Whether you are young or old she will treat you with kindness. She is respectful even in tough situations. Even when someone treats her harshly, she is still respectful. My mom treats them with respect she would if they had been kind to her.
My mother genuinely loves people. She shows this love through her compassionate heart and respectful nature. These extraordinary attributes contribute to why I consider my mom my hero. She is a truly amazing woman. I love you, mom.
