I am scared of the most dangerous, scariest, and craziest sport: football!

I was in 6th grade and I was new to the US. It was early in the evening, and all of us were stretching for the football game. I was putting on my mouthpiece, and that gave me some determination.
While I was waiting to be called, I kept seeing other players getting tripped and knocked down. I wondered what if that was me. I imagined a huge defender hitting me hard and throwing me down to the ground. I thought of myself getting laughed at and scolded by my coach.
A lot of my friends laughed at when they got knocked out. Football was a scary sport to me, I started to feel nervous. My legs were shaking and I had sweat on my palms although it was very cold outside. In the middle of the game, one of our teammates got seriously injured. He was shoved by a huge 6’3 guy and he lay on the ground clutching his forehead. He didn’t move. As soon as I saw that, I couldn’t wait to go home, this sport was for animals. And that was when I heard my coach saying, “Hey David! Get in there!”
I tried making up an excuse, but it was too late. I had already grabbed my helmet, and he pushed me out to the field. My feet were heavy as stones. Everyone was busy getting to their positions. Since this was only my first game, I didn’t know the rules and how to play the game yet. My friend shouted me “Hey what are you doing? Stand on this line!” I did exactly what he told me to do, and as the defensive team lined up against us, I saw huge dude coming towards me. As he got closer, he seemed bigger to me. When he was standing right in front of me, I thought he was as big as Shaquille O'neal. He was the one who knocked my friend over, and I had to substitute in for him. I almost fell down because my legs were shaking and I started feeling weak. He stared at me and grinned like I was his prey. I tried staring him back, but I was way to scared of him. My legs continuously shook and I started feeling weaker and weaker.
Then one of our quarterback shouted “Ready, set, hike!” I was so frightened. He had a aggressive frown on his face, and started screaming while coming at me. It is so frightening when someone is aggressive towards you, all their goal is to hurt you. I am scared of football or other physical sports because you are risking your life to play the game. It is foolishness, yet people love it. I don’t understand these sports, yet everyone else does. I didn’t care whether they made fun of me and laughed at me because I was able to go home and have a good night sleep.

I think football is a pretty foolish sport! I myself would choose something a little safer like soccer or swimming.
