You ask
who my hero is.
And I answer
I dont know yet.

Hero is a loosely held term
a term to drape
across the shoulders of loved ones, revered ones,
a word used to thank, to apologize.
It is a word that
in overuse, in the passing from person to person
has lost true meaning.

But heroes
in the truest sense of the word
do exist.
There are people out there
who gave their lives, who sacrificed everything,
people who dserve this worn out, faded, yet still
meaningful
title.

As I skimmed the works of the others
the stories and deepest thoughts of a hundred other people
just like me, looking for a chance in this world,
I saw the names of family members,
friends,
loved ones.
The knotwork of people who wove my life into what it is now are heroes, yes.
But only if you use the term carelessly,
tossing it away to please the masses.
I have people I love
people I worship
but they are not heroes.

No, I am still waiting.
I feel the pull of somehting in my soul
something predestined and mysterious.
The call of a hero.

To answer your question
i dont yet know who it is.
All i know
is that
my hero is out there.
