An Angel Without Wings

I am completely lost and have nowhere to go,
I begin to scream and shout and yet no one will show.
My hands feel numb and my knees are weak,
someone to care for me is what I seek.
There is no place for me to hide,
I feel as though my insides have died.
This is when I saw the light,
it made me wince; it was so bright.
Once it faded it became clear,
my friend, this is when you came near.
You pulled me with you and carried me away,
How I wish you could see my true reaction that day.
When you came you made me want to sing,
I am so grateful to have you, an angel without wings.

Something that stood out to me when reading this was these two lines in your poem, "This is when I saw the light, it made me wince; it was so bright".

I think what struck me about it was the fact that you mentioned that the "light" made you wince. I sort of interpreted it as a sort of rejection of your friend's help, something that you were uncomfortable with because of the fact that no one had helped you before. It wasn't until your "angel without wings" rescued you that you realized the help that your friend gave you.

I dunno, I found your poem very touching. Your rhyme scheme is also pretty well organized. Great job!
