These days, under the present economic crisis, many homebuyers are experiencing tremendous financial crisis and seeking help with their mortgages. If the economy is going downward, people are becoming jobless and losing every possible source of income, it can lead toward massive foreclosures. Therefore, today many homeowners are seeking help with their mortgages. If you want similar kind of help, there are several sources to assist you. However, review each option carefully to find out the most efficient one to help you with your mortgage crisis.

1) Reach your mortgage lender and ask if there is any possible refinance option for you. If you are able to refinance your mortgage, you mortgage interest rate will get lowered, which eventually lower your monthly mortgage payments. If you pay a lower monthly payment toward your mortgage, it will be healing for your dying budget and further help you pay off your mortgage debt within a short span of time. However, first you have to qualify for a mortgage refinance. Remember, if you want to qualify, there should not be any late payments within the last 12 months on your mortgage.

2) Visit and review the terms & conditions of a mortgage loan modification. See if you meet the required criteria. A homeowner should know that there is no cost associated with a home loan modification. However, mortgage loan modifications are available for those homeowners who are experiencing some financial hardships like increased mortgage payment, a job loss, a medical emergency or some sort of illness.

3) Request your mortgage lender regarding a mortgage loan recast. This is another obvious way. You can also get help with your mortgage note is by having the mortgage balance recast. In a mortgage balance recast, the remaining balance is recalendered for a longer term.

However, if you want the process work, you have to substantially reduce the mortgage balance. To achieve this, you have to make a lump-sum payment toward your mortgage. What is interesting, if you recast your mortgage, you can evade all the fees associated with a mortgage refinance like closing costs and other fees.
