After the Newtown shooting in December, gun control has turned into an immense issue. Weather we should ban guns, change the amount of magazines, or having monthly background checks on those who own, or may purchase firearms. This has caused lots of commotion in our country. The some of the public believes we should be able to own guns for our own protection or just to own a gun. No matter what’s happens with the gun laws, we can’t completely prevent mass shootings, but we can try.

Dear Mom,

Thank you. Thank you, for the life that you’ve given me.
So many of my friends who i thought would make it till the end with me, already disappeared right before my eyes....i am so terrified. To the point of running home to your arms, so you could comfort me and tell me that everything's going to be okay. But i have to be strong, and push on. I came to make a difference, make my life worthwhile even though i

“Fat fat fatty fat” bellowed all the children on the playground. Growing up was hard. Kids don’t play with you if you’re not perfect and me, I was not perfect. I was not perfect because of my weight I remember like it was yesterday as the kid’s song “Diamond the big fat fish! Diamond the big fat fish!” I cried and cry all day long they hurt my feelings. As I played in the park by myself. Fifth grade was even harder getting teased about your weight. Called names fatty fatty fatty.

It was a cool August morning in Georgia. The sun wasn't even up yet. I was currently attending Airborne School at Ft. Benning as part of my army training. It was the first day of jump week. I felt no emotion. My class was filled mostly with cadets but there were a few other soldiers from military bases around the world. We made our way to the rock pit to begin our parachute landing falls. It was a necessary nuisance to induce muscle memory. "Check canopy and gain canopy control.." the cadre yel

Fear is something deep down inside of one that they are scared to let go of. Fear can control one's thoughts, feelings, and actions. Fear can make one's life filled with misery. Fear can prevent one from pursuing their dreams. I am lucky; my fear helped me discover my true passion.
My deepest fear is that someone will see who I really am, and judge me because of it. If one were to look from a distance at my life, they would think I was a quiet, strange, with little fears of emotions other

In regards to the recent Sandy Hook tragedy, my views on guns laws/rights have not changed. We have been witnesses to violence time and time again. When a person chooses to go on a murderous rampage, we are all affected, whether it is indirectly or directly. We don’t have to lose someone to such a hideous crime to be able to understand what these families are going through. Nonetheless I believe in the United States Constitution, therefore I don’t believe a persons right to legally bear arms sh

Its okay to admit you need help when it comes to successfully selling yourself during the interview process. Many people are afraid or ashamed to admit they need help.Just because you got the interview doesn't mean you know how to properly conduct yourself to land the job.I have seen many a horrendous faux pas waiting my turn for an interview;and Gi-rrendous faux pas during group interviews. In the past I have been guilty of committing an interview crime or seven. The road to redemption begins wi

“Sticks and stones can break my bones but words….? Words can do all sorts of things... Whether or not we believe the words, they do their work.” ~H.H

“If I ever get so big that I take up 2 seats on mass transit, or have to sit sideways on the single seats….tell my fat greedy ass to stop eating…You so fat you only joined facebook because you heard they put cookies on your computer:...and You so fat you walked into the Gap and filled it”

You shouldn’t wait for specific months or national days to come around to practice awareness on causes that affect your health.Every calendar day should be practiced as an awareness day. Know your body and be conscious of your well being.Get a yearly physical to know whats going on with your overall health.Practice safe sex and get tested for HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases regularly. Whether you are in a monogamous relationship or not.

Remember....

My imagination is something that I cherish dearly and I will continue to nourish it forever. I've always been inclined to recite stories and to write.I still remember the very first piece of written work I produced.I was in second grade and my teacher gave a creative assignment for homework. We had to write a story and make a book with illustrations;which would be read in front of our parents.I was so excited,I did it that same night...even though we had an entire week to finish it.When the time
