After a long and hard day at school, I love to jump into my favorite pair of comfy sweats and plop down on my bed with a bowl of buttery popcorn. As I try not to think of anything school related and how terribly mean middle school girls can be, I eagerly start up my laptop and indulge myself, episode after episode, until my eyelids feel a million pounds and the rest of my body yearns for sleep. Watching Gossip Girl helps me escape reality. When I just can't get my mind off something, I flip on the TV and all of my problems seem to melt away as I enthusiastically learn of the recent dilemmas Chuck has gotten himself into. When my friends and I are having another pointless fight and I need something else to think about, I observe as Serena and Blair luxuriously fly to Paris, nibbling on macaroons and purchasing the newest designer trends. Watching TV is a fantastic way to just relax and a great way to not think about the problems that lay ahead in life. But sooner or later I am going to have to deal with those problems, so instead of trying to escape reality, I should focus on trying to make my life a better one to live.
