the butterflies have fluttered back,
happily, their wings intact,
Innocence is withheld here,
knowing that their Love is
sheer- in a time when their dear friend,
the jitterbug can still pretend
how to rid them of that sign-
a new feeling left behind.
the butterflies know this now,
as they grow- they will Learn how
their inner beauty shines aloud-
from everything they've seen-
they know you feel- how in between-
every day and every night,
they confide in you- don't fight.
the fountain of Hope continues to flow,
its essence saving what you know-
everything else done over again,
and for that long- you were a friend.
a g a i n, and, a g a i n.
they chide "do not be afraid"
the marching band in the parade
will sing along to your bright tune,
creating flowers come to bloom.
once a Fairy tale i'll forget,
how it was when we first met-
like a blossom in the rain,
my petals drooped, i felt the pain
the loss of life, the loss of strain,
so you're the one i've left to blame,
watching my life put on a show,
as i'm standing here so low-
only needing time on my own,
please just leave me here alone.
d o w n, d o w n, d o w n.
tlthough so quaint and innocent,
they couldn't help my feelings present-
so confused with everything
they had thought that you were king,
and i was queen in some far land,
but now- i wouldn't touch that hand
cold and writhing, causing pain
because you are the one to blame.
a life has turned over your shadow,
i couldn't help but see the phantom,
of how and Why and where you went,
closing doors with secrets kept.
my life is long-
the love, was wrong-
and now i've seen what you, are,
no longer scared but from afar
a remembrance of who you are-
is still intact.
stamped with a heart you found our pact,
here again- but not for long,
i was told our love was Strong
it did not help for you to run,
runaway like you had shunned
everything t'was meant to be,
the love was lost- Eternity
and in your sadness, mind you mine,
never had one its own kind,
i was fine and still will Be,
just for now- Eternity
