Teen pregnancy is common for every female teenager across the world, but preventing pregnancy is not so common. Programs are just now letting teens at a young age understand how effective teen pregnancy is, and how it could affect them also if it happened. Teen pregnancy does affect all teens, both male and female; but the gender that is most affected is females. Statistics show that teenage pregnancy is the cause for deaths of some teenage girls, including the babies they bore.
Pregnancy is the leading role of deaths for young ladies ages between 15-19, especially in poor countries. Teens are twice as likely to die during childbirth then regular pregnant women ages over 20 and above. Other studies have shown that teenage pregnancy ranges high because of race. African and Latino American teenage girls have more percentage rate of teen pregnancy then average white women that's over twenty. Other studies show that another discrimination towards teenage pregnancy has taken a new turn, sexuality differences’. Teenage girls that are lesbians seem to have a high percentage of teenage pregnancy then an average girl who is straight.
Backgrounds of teenage girls seem to affect their decision in getting pregnant in the first place. Low class society seems to have a high percentage rate with teenagers getting pregnant. With the lack of adults supervising these teenagers and parents not having enough time watching what teens are doing these days and what teenage girls are exposed to. The talk of sexual intercourse is talked briefly to teens on the daily bases through the Internet, phones, TV, etc. It is so much easier for teens now of days to get information on sex. At school sex is discussed a lot towards the health issues with STDS, AIDS, etc. Teens are exposed everywhere they go, whether it's to prevent sex from happening or encouragement from peers.
Programs are now affecting young preteens about the issue of teen pregnancy and hoping to stop the high percentage rates across the world. The death rates have been increasing rapidly towards other parts of the country that is in low standard. Programs should try to reach the other teens in the world, get theses teens to understand that pregnancy can be prevented, to get them to understand how it starts in the first place. Abstinence seems to be the one key to lower the rates of teen pregnancy and to keep teens non-sexually active, a process where teens fully understand their intentions towards having sex. Contraception (birth control pills, shots, etc.) seems to be another solution for stopping teen pregnancy. Not too many young teens know about this before they become sexually active. Teenage girls seem to get pregnant instantly after a year becoming sexually active sometimes the first time. Teenagers around the world should know the semi solutions into not getting pregnant.
