Teen Pregnancy Prevention: Enjoy your Teenage Years
Teen pregnancy is one of the most common things we hear about today. Through television, our own experiences, and others around us we are aware of teen pregnancy. Getting pregnant at a young age can have many misleading consequences. You could ruin your future plans, make wrong decisions during the pregnancy like abortion, and have trouble supporting your child. If you make the decision to have sex at a young age you risk becoming pregnant. Your life could change in so many ways just because you chose that one decision. Always think before you act. Getting pregnant at a young age could crush your future and have a major effect on your life. When you have a child you will be completely focused on them, and your grade will start to slip. When your grades slip you won’t be able to go to college and that means you won’t be able to hold a job. Without a job you can’t support your child. Choices like this affect your life forever. Your life and child’s life will be much harder because of the choice you made by having sex. If you wait until you’re married your life will be more organized, and you will be able to support your family. If you are thinking about having an abortion, consider adoption. Every life is a gift. There are many reasons why teen pregnancies have decreased. By practicing abstinence teens learn the consequences and stick with their faith. By receiving more health education at school they learn about diseases you could get and the effects of them. All the shows on television about getting pregnant at such a young age scare teens, and they become aware of what could happen to them. By getting pregnant as a teen you don’t get to fully enjoy your high school years. You will have to learn how to be a responsible, caring mother rather than a young playful teenager. If you have seen your family members or friends become pregnant at a young age, you know the consequences and should learn from them. Today, parents are more involved in teens lives so they have positive role models to look up to. Parents or guardians teach their children the right thing to do and they are expected to do it. Your parents should be one of the main people you look up to the most and you know you can trust them. They will always be there for you in any type of situation. Teens are starting to realize that the choices they make now effects their whole life ahead. Teenagers are also realizing how important their education is and that they need to attend college. If you go to college you will have a better future, and will help support your family. Getting pregnant at a young age is not worth the consequences that follow it. Wait until; marriage so you can enjoy it and not have any regrets.
