When I was 10 years old, I left my home in South Korea and came to the United States to go to school. I went to a boarding school in New England and had to be away from my parents and other family members who had to stay back in Korea. And looking back to the time when I was in fifth grade, I try to put myself in my parents' shoes and think what it was like for them to send their son away halfway across the globe by himself to live by his own.
