What made you fall in love with your husband or wife?

I was thinking about this question today while my wife and I were bopping around the house running back and forth with the kids.

Yes, we have kids, but I placed this question in this stage because it deals with heart of our relationship - how it started with just us.

My answer: I fell in love with my wife because she wasn't afraid to share a different opinion than me. That really stood out when we were dating...it made her mysterious. I wanted to know more about what she thought and what made her tick. That curiosity led straight to love and here we are 15 years later!

What made you fall in love?

This one is easy for me...her voice. Plain and simple. The first time I met her she was singing and couldn't think of anything else for about two weeks...

He was kind....very kind and respectful. He was handsome yet humble...I hated arrogant guys. He was real...he opened up and shared his heart about his mother's death on our first date. And he was engaged. He really listened to me. And he still has all of these qualities today. That is why I love him still and love him more!

He made me laugh. He loved to talk about life and debate about the world. He had abundant energy and always wanted to do more and pursue dreams. He was incredibly kind to everyone around him and always made sure that everyone felt loved and included.

He still makes me laugh and he still amazes me with his brilliant and charismatic personality. I am more in love with him now than when I met him, so I know our 10 years of marriage have been successful.

Some things in life you just cant effectively explain! There was from day one and continues to be an incredible energy that has drawn and intertwined our souls together. In less than three weeks we will celebrate our 14th Honeymoon together. That statement speaks oodles in itself. I couldn't imagine life without the comfort and support, the friendship and companionship....the love of my wife! What did it for me was her smile, her happy go lucky personality, and that fascinating look of unconditional love she always had and still has when she looked/looks at me. And it just keeps getting better everyday!

He accepted me for me. I had come off of a really bad breakup in the year we met, and I warned him that I still had a lot of insecurities and baggage, and he accepted that and lent me his ear on his shoulder to cry on right away. He doesn't expect me to change in any way, and he always treats me like a queen and makes sure to tell me how much I mean to him. I love him more and more each day!

I first fell in love with my (now) husband after we had gone to see a movie. When we had first started seeing each other, I got so anxious about dating and told him I just wanted to be friends. (I was anxious because my previous boyfriend stalked me for months after I broke up with him). My now husband took the news about being "just friends" well and we'd meet up for coffee fairly regularly. We decided to go to dinner one night and then we went to see a movie. When we left the theater, it was snowing unexpectedly. I had driven us to the movies but when he saw it was snowing he told me to get in the car as he scraped it down for me. I took him to his house to drop him off and head home myself. Shortly after I got home, he called me to make sure I arrived home safely. I only lived 1.5 miles from him, but it was very sweet of him to make sure I made it home ok. I realized at that point that he wanted something FOR me rather than FROM me, and that what I saw was what I got with him (he wasn't a game player). We've been married almost 3 years now and deciding he was worth taking the risk to start dating again has been the best decision I ever made.

I fell in love with my husband because I was the first girl he had a relationship with for more than a week. Yes, he was a player, but I tamed him. Then, he had a tragic accident where he was in a coma for more than a week. I discovered that I really didn't want to go on without him. He also discovered what a real relationship was at that point. He had various therapy sessions for quite a long time, but I was there to take him to the sessions, help at the sessions, and be his biggest cheerleader. He is the reason I went back to college to become a speech therapist/audiologist and then a teacher. I wanted to make a difference in the lives of others.
