Hi, My name is Shannon Kail, I am 25 years old. I live in Miami, Florida with my Husband who is 28 years old. we have been together for 5 years. We own a home out in the Everglades and we have 4 dogs. We met in the Army at a leadership school and it was love at first sight. He got out of the Army about 2 years ago and because of the troop surge in Afganistan my husband has been recalled to deploy. We found out yesterday he is leaving in 45 days. I cried so hard that I got a migraine and the saddest part was I saw my husband cry for the first time. Living without someone for a year is extremely hard. He was deployed our first year of marriage, but it made us closer because all we could do was communicate through letters and the phone. God I hope this is a sign that troops need his help, please bring him back safe.

I am so sorry to hear about your husband having to leave. My fiance just got back in November from deployment. He was gone for Eleven months. It's crazy to think about loosing such a chunk of time with someone you love. I know that at some point he is going to have to do it again but I am trying not to think of that. As you already know it does make you stronger and appreciate your relationship that much more. Try to be strong and come up with short term things to look forward to and keep you going. I am sure your husband will be back safe and sound.

Wow, Shannon! That is big news. It will be difficult, for sure, but I bet that it will be another period of time for you two to truly appreciate one another and re-kindle your love or take it to the next level! Think about how wonderful it will be to see one another again-that very first time :) Best of luck and you can do it!
